Derrick and I are both big lovers of tattoos. We enjoy hearing the stories of why and how someone came up with their tattoos and really believe it is a piece of art on the body. I have 2 and Derrick has a recent addition to his body taking him up to 2.
He is a big fan of Japanese art and sought out a woman here who specializes in Japanese art and tattooing. He wanted a coy fish because they are known for their good luck and strong successful life and he wanted it swimming up stream... always heading up. He told her his ideas, she drew it up for him and began on it last Monday. For 5 hours he laid on his side while she worked again. He couldn't take it anymore so he goes back tomorrow for it to be finished up, about another 2-3 hours (eek!). It really is amazing to see and she did such a fantastic job. There won't be any color, just gray, black and white, but she has some more details and shading to add. Here are the pics from last Tuesday -- it was and still is healing so once it's all done and healed I'll take a final shot.
